• Who is eligible to apply for a scholarship?

    The Canadian-Scandinavian Foundation invites applications for bursaries to facilitate study in Denmark, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Finland, Norway, or Sweden. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants or previously registered in a Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral program, or equivalent in Canada. Applicants proposed program of study or research must be carried out in Denmark, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Finland, Norway, or Sweden.

  • How can I apply for a scholarship?

    As soon as you have determined if you are eligible for a scholarship with your proposed program of study or research, you have to fill out the application form and send it to us via post.

  • How much will I receive if I get a scholarship?

    The Canadian-Scandinavian Foundation invites applications for bursaries of $500 to $2,000 depending on the year and the significance of your proposed project for the chosen scandinavian country.

  • What factors determine if I will receive a bursary?

    Due to the limited annual varying number of bursaries, selection is very competitive and based primarily upon Nordic relevance of the proposed program of study, as well as applicants’ academic records, references, support material (if applicable). That is why we advise you to describe thoroughly why it is very important or even essential for you to undertake your studies in one of the Nordic countries, versus elsewhere in the world.

  • When do I have to send in my application?

    We are currently receiving applications for studies starting in September 2016. The deadline for the applications is on May 31, 2016.
